Prepare before you apply

1. Make sure you are dressed smartly (business casual)

2. Prepare as though you were going to a face to face interview, ensure you’re fresh and clean

3. Prepare notes on what you’re going to say, don’t feel like you have to read word from word from a script but have some notes ready about your talking topics.

4. Don’t recite your resume/C.V. Instead of listing past roles and responsibilities, take the opportunity to share an experience or quality about yourself that has particular relevance to the position but that might not shine through on your resume.

5. Place your camera at eye level far enough away so we can see your whole face and shoulders but not so far that we can see all of you.

6. Make sure you are in a private and quiet place to record your video

7. While recording look up at the camera as much as possible, speak clearly and don’t be afraid to take your time, there is no need to rush yourself.

8. Video content: you can include your information in any order you chose but we would recommend you start with a basic introduction that includes:

• full name
• a short spiel about your situation (just finished school, still at school, just finished study, generally a I.T wizz kid etc)
• Why you want to be considered for this internship
• What skills and experience you bring to the table
• What your passionate about and anything else you are comfortable sharing that lets us get to know you

9. Shoot several takes if necessary

10. Watch your own video, review it before you send it, even get a friend or parent to watch it before you send it

11. Edit if you need to
